I picked a basic series of RPS images, I mostly chose either the hands or the literal version. I also included Japanese characters simply because I know what Janken is. I plan to draw hands or symbols in a cycle to show the winner.... also I completely misunderstood the instructions. I only realized this when other people started to present thiers.

I would choose a style and stick too it. Thumbnail sketches would help to planning out your guide/poster. I do think, however, that some of the images you selected are very cool and have a lot of potential to do well. Although to many pictures can be a bad thing.
ReplyDeleteThe presentation has no intro or verbal presentation of rules. I think there is some potential with focusing on either the cyclical nature of RPS, or focusing on the language and making a kind of international RPS card with a bunch of diverse languages and cultural representations
ReplyDeleteI agree with Colin that thumbnails would have been helpful with an idea on placement. However, I think that a myriad of pictures could be helpful in generating creativity since you can always remove the pictures that you do not like or will not end up using. Also, just because that one picture happens to be in Korean doesn't mean that you can't find a Japanese connection to the game. Use the feedback and extra time to really nail down your concept and I think you will have really great poster idea. Very, very unique spin on it.
ReplyDeleteI feel like you should take out the Korean words. The Korean version or Rock Paper Scissors have different rules to win the game that actually don't follow the cycle we're used to here. I think if you stick to the cycle images you'll be able to come up with something great.
